Mumbai: Facing the heat of suicide as a candidate for state civil service, Deputy Minister Ajit Pawar told the State Assembly on Tuesday that more than 15,500 Government posts would be filled through MPSC and the State Commission would be overhauled in the lines of public service unions (UPSC ).
Swapnil Lonkar, 24, has cleared the MPSC exam but is waiting for a two-year interview when he takes drastic steps.
Pawar then told reporters that the government would not only fill all empty posts members in the State Commission but would expand it to at least 11 members of the six today.
This will help them throw backlogs after recruitment stops faster.
“We will fill in 4,417 Group Posts, 8,021 Group B Posts and 3,063 Group C.
This will be done after checking the reservation on the post,” said Pawar.
He added that the government had held several meetings on how to speed up the MPSC recruitment process.
The commission will be asked to develop the online platform for details about the exam, consultation.
Also, the government is considering reviewing the age limit for the MPSC exam.
“There is a need to look back at the whole process and we will sit with CM after the Monsun session.
The final decision will be taken after,” said Pawar.
On Monday, Pawar said empty posts on the MPSC panel would be filled on July 31.
However, he received criticism from the opposition, who said the pawar was only talking about filling up vacancies in the MPSC panel and not about providing work for candidates.
