Nagpur: Against the background of the incident of the recently in various cities in Maharashtra during demonstrations taken in protest against communal violence recognized in Tripura, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Sunday demanding a ban on Muslim organizations, Raza Academy.
Overcoming a press conference at the VHP office in the Dhantoli Nagpur area in Maharashtra, Secretary General of VHP Milind Parande said the right-wing body would push fir in various police stations against rioters.
“If the police failed to register a violation, the VHP would take action,” he said, adding that the delegation of the VHP leaders would meet Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in this matter.
He demanded that the Maharashtra government make rioters pay damage caused by public and personal property during the incident pelting stones on Friday.
On Saturday, the curfew was clamped in the city of Amravati in Maharashtra Timur for four days and internet services were closed after a horde that threw stones in the shops during the bandh (shut-down) which was allegedly held by local BJP workers by protest against demonstrations organized by demonstrations.
