SURAT: After viewing a number of admissions into hospitals, then the fire department swung in action on Saturday and Sunday and secured 18 hospitals and 2 industrial complexes in town.
Fire officials stated those hospitals that didn’t have some fire-fighting systems and equipment have been served notices to put in them and get no-objection certificates.
But, 18 hospitals that maintained dismissing the notices and failed to set any system had been sealed remembering the protection of staff and patients, fire officers said.
The hospitals which were closed have been at Yogi Chowk, Godadara, Limbayat, Parvat Patiya, Variyavi Bazaar, Makkaipul, Lal Darwaja, Rampura, Aai Mata Road, Bamroli Road and also Pandesara.
One of those institutions in Central zone has been sealed to the next time to get flouting the specified norms.
Together with the hospitals, two industrial complexes at Rander and Katargam with 100 stores, were sealed.
“A number of those hospitals had sufferers thus leaving these rooms, the rest of the regions of the hospitals were closed away.
We’ll provide them a moment of 15 to 20 times to set up all equipment and system,” stated in-charge main fire officer B K Pareek.
An emergency softball drill was conducted in Burhani Hospital at Mahidharpura about Sunday morning to train both the hospital personnel and examine the hospital preparedness.
