Letter: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he was given the opportunity to serve as chairman of Gujarat minister and later as the Prime Minister of State even though he did not have a political or dynastional background, or caste support.
Modi spoke after laying a virtual foundation stone for a boy hostel on the outskirts of the letter, built by Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj, trust working for the welfare of the Patide community.
“I am an ordinary person who does not have a political or dying background and there is no support from caste-based politics.
Even so, your blessings gave me the opportunity to present the Gujarat road in 2001,” he said.
“And, it is the power of your blessings that even after 20 years, I still serve.
First I serve Gujarat people and now I am serving the country,” added the prime minister.
He urged people to walk on the path shown by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
“Sardar Patel said that we should not allow caste and religious faith to be a barrier to us.
We are all sons and daughters in India and we all have to love our country.
We all have to love each other.
Gujarat people always believe in the strengthening of Sardar teachings Patel.
‘Nation First’ is the motto of Sardar Patel’s children, “Modi said.
The prime minister also recalled the contribution of several leading reformists and education from Gujarat, including Chaganbha from North Gujarat and Bhai Kaka from the Charotar region.
He also talked about Sankalchand Patel, Ganpat Patel, Mohan Lalji Patel and Karshan Virani.
He gave credit to several initiatives that began during his tenure as the main minister for improvement in front of education and swimming in the drop-out ratio of schools among female students.
“There are times when Gujarat does not have good quality schools and teachers.
With Blessing Maa Umiya and Maa Khodal (God of Patidar Community), we include people in movement and launching initiatives such as PravesTsav and Gunotsav,” Modi said.
Because of the lack of toilets in schools leading to dropout girls, this facility is provided and as a result the number of girls leaving schools in the middle declined significantly, he said.
Modi also praised the New Gujarat Barat Minister Bhupendra Patel, said even though he spoke less, someone could not find a defect in his work.
Patel has been in public life for more than 25 years and has begun as a member of the Municipal Council, the Prime Minister noted.
In the first phase of the project conducted by Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj near Vilak Village, a hostel for 1,000 students of the Patidar community will be built.
In the second phase, another hostel that has the capacity to accommodate 500 female students will be built.
