Surgical Heart Transplant Benefits of Farmers in Pune

Pune: The doctor’s team at D Y Patil Medical College and Hospital managed to carry out a heart transplant operation on Monday, making it only the third health center in Pune to achieve achievements.
The head of the hospital executive officer, Amarjit Singh, said, “The transplant recipient is fine.” The recipient is a farmer (33) who suffers from cardiomyopathy – heart stage disease – over the past few months.
Donor, a 46-year-old man, was treated at Sahyadri Hospital, Ahmednagar branch, after he suffered a severe brain attack (stroke) last week.
Donor was declared dead brain two days ago.
His family members agreed to contribute vital organs that benefited five patients who needed – four in Pune and one in Secunderabad (Telangana) on Monday.
“The doctor at the Kims Hospital in Secunderabad took to Pune, took the lungs, and carried him back to their hospital in rented flight on Monday.
The transplantation of the two lungs was successfully carried out at KimS Hospital on the same day,” said Aarti Gokhale, Transplant Coordinator of the Zon Transplant Coordination Committee (ZTCC).
Donor’s liver and kidneys benefit two patients at Sahyadri Hospital, Ahmednagar branch, and other kidneys that benefit a patient registered for kidney transplants with Sahyadri Hospital, DECCAN branch.
