Pune: The doctor’s team at D Y Patil Medical College and Hospital managed to carry out a heart transplant operation on Monday, making it only the third health center in Pune to achieve achievements.
The head of the hospital executive officer, Amarjit Singh, said, “The transplant recipient is fine.” The recipient is a farmer (33) who suffers from cardiomyopathy – heart stage disease – over the past few months.
Donor, a 46-year-old man, was treated at Sahyadri Hospital, Ahmednagar branch, after he suffered a severe brain attack (stroke) last week.
