Surjagarh protested ending but mining projects to face opposition

Nagpur: The Agitation, ‘Thiya Andolan’, against the Iron Iron Surjagarh mining project held at Etapalli in South Gadchiroli ended with a peaceful record with the agitators who submit their representatives to the Magistrate Sub-Divisional (HR) but they vowed to continue their opposition to 25 such mines are approved by the government in the district.
Minister of Assistance and Rehabilitation Vijay Wadettiwar, who had asked local residents to oppose mining projects, did not appear, leaving tribes that had gathered for agitation thinking.
The former Mla Namdeo Usendi congress said that Wadettiwar could not join Andolan because he had to participate in an important meeting in Bengaluru.
4,000 protesters have increased security concern for the district police in the East Maoist vidarbha belt.
Even though the police were a relaxed place after the conclusion of peace of Morcha, several protesters were still camping in Etapalli.
He learned they might plan to draw to the mining site near Surjagarh to trigger fresh protest.Sp Ankit Goyal said the bandobast security had been maintained and every movement was being watched.
“The protesters who come from far places have convinced to leave in the morning.
If they use a violated activity, the action will begin thus,” he said.
Problems are questioned around the project.
“Government agencies and other authorities must recognize local population concerns about mining and make decisions by considering environmental problems, bio-diversity, and especially tribal groups that are very vulnerable,” he said.
The protesters also warned that HR mining companies were arranged to use explosives for the project but Maois could try to loot them for their anti-national activities.
“Maois uses a 20 kg mine which often makes a police vehicle aoized.
If they get access to explosives in large quantities, it can cause serious problems,” Usendi said.
