Surplus Land: More than 8,000 hectares have not been taken over by the Government of Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Because the government is continuing to introduce a unique Thandaper number on the lines of Aadhaar numbers to ensure transparency of land ownership by individuals, the revenue department numbers show that 8,217.76 hectares of land are waiting to be taken over by the government as a surplus landed from various individuals in the state.
In accordance with the statistics of the Department of Revenue, Kannur (2,255.52 Acre), Kozhikode (1,580.28 Acre), Kasaragod (1,362.83 hectares), Wayanad (933.56 Acre) and IDUKKI (716.65 Acre) are the top five districts where the land surplus Not yet taken ended, while Kottayam (17.39 acre) and Kollam (41.58 acre) has the least land.
There are 1,295 cases of delayed soil ceilings to be disposed of those who have been ordered to those who hold the land more than the limits permitted, in the 77 marks of the land council throughout the state.
Malappuram (223) and Wayanad (206) are above the district list with delayed cases to be discarded.
Concerning cases in various land courts in the state is even higher.
There were 1,27,253 cases delayed at 17 Mother Land Tribunals, 16 Devaswom courts and 16 offices that had been charged with the land court.
Cases related to complaints from tenants, who have occupied land for years but have no ownership.
In accordance with the landing limit of the land reform law, an individual can have a maximum of 7.5 acres, a family of two to five members can have a maximum of 15 hectares and families with more than five members can have a maximum of 20 acres.
Also, companies and organizations can accommodate up to a maximum of 15 hectares and to hold more than this limit, it must get release below section 81 (3) of the KLR law.
In accordance with section 81 of land reform laws, plantations, land owned by religious institutions, ambites or education, temple sites, churches, mosques and burning and cemetery and land, land inhabited by educational institutions, factories consist of factories , the workshop factory needed for their operations, private forests, etc., eligible for the liberation of the ceiling limit.
Under this section that plantations are in personal hands in the state and liberation have been provided for coffee, kardamom, rubber, cinnamon, cocoa, tea or cashew plantations that existed before April 1, 1964.
The government will advance the concept of unique Thandaper number to each holder Land in the state.
As permission to link this to the aadhaar number has been received from the center, after completion, it will provide comprehensive data from someone’s land ownership in the state.
This means that after this is done, the land outside the ceiling limit cannot be held by someone.
