Gurgaon: The city reported the first case of malaria this year on Friday after a 30-year-old woman, resident of the Bhangrola area, was tested positive for diseases transmitted through vectors.
According to the health department official, the woman suffered a high fever and was treated at a private hospital earlier this week.
More than 50 houses near his house have been examined for mosquito breeding following the diagnosis.
Over the past few years, the period between April and November has become one of the maximum risk for the city, said the Ministry of Health officials.
In 2018, the city reported 30 cases of malaria and in 2019, there were 15 cases.
The number of cases dropped to four in 2020.
Typical symptoms of malaria including high fever, bodyache, headache and cold.
Patients can also suffer nausea and vomiting.
Fever can last for weeks if the patient does not get treatment.
Also, fever nails can stay for two to six hours.
As far as dengue fever, Gurgaon has 51 cases last year.
This year so far, there are no cases.
However, two patients – a 54-year-old man from Sonipat and a 21-year-old young man from Delhi – treated in a private hospital in the city.
Meanwhile, 500 health workers were deployed to do ‘fever supervision’ to prevent dengue fever and malaria outbreaks.
The team will go from the door to the door to identify people with symptoms of viral fever and make it tested in their main health center.
So far, a sample of 455 cases suspected of being collected this month.
The health department will geo-tag all cases to create a hotspot database that appears.
This will then be compared to past surveys to get a better understanding.
