Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has started a survey to identify manual scavengers in the city limits.
The survey was being carried out to implement the prohibition of employment as a manual scavenger and their rehabilitation law, 2013, said Akshy Sridhar, Commissioner of MCC.
Officials will identify those involved in manual scavengers and details of their dependents.
Those who work as manual scavengers can also disclose details to MCC by visiting health or technical parts.
They can also contact MCC (0824-220313 – 318) to provide details, the commissioner said.
