Madurai: A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) searched the house from S Abdullah – which was arrested in connection with the Facebook posts – near Teppakulam in Madurai on Saturday morning.
Abdullah, Master of Lecture, from Jalan Vivekanandar near the Tamilan road at the old Ramnad Road has posted many Facebook posts between 23 and 25 March, inciting people with religious reasons to fight against India and build a Caliphate.
The messages threatened the country’s unity, security, and sovereignty, said police officials.
He was arrested by Teppakulam police on April 4 for social media posts after registering the case.
The police reported the case to Nia, who registered a separate case on May 21.
The investigation revealed that he was a support for the Hizb-Ut-Tahrir fundamentalist group and was seeking support for people to give Jihad to India to build Islamic government.
The team reached the rented house at around 5.30 in the morning and questioned his wife Nasren Taj.
The search was made at the house of the Nasren Taj mother located on the next road.
Nasreen Taj told TI that Nia had been looking for a home for material evidence but had not found anything.
The mother of two said that she was married to Abdullah, a native of the Tirunelveli District, seven years ago.
He has a diploma in engineering (fire and safety) and takes school money to children in the area.
Nasreen taught Arabic to Muslim children.
