Letter: A suspect in Valsad’s illegal beef trade racket died while trying to avoid the arrest in Bhiwandi from Maharashtra on Saturday.
Local residents then attacked the Bhiwandi police team who had picked up the suspect Jameel Qureshi.
Police Valsad said that they had received information about several suspects in connection with the case of illegal cattle trade, one of which was Qureshi.
“We have a CCTV camera footage and several inputs.
A local crime branch team and our special operating group went to Bhiwandi and asked for help from the local police in holding the suspects to be interrogated,” Inspector J N Goswami from Valsad LCB.
Bhiwandi’s crime branch police went to the QureShi house.
Seeing the police, Qureshi jumped from his home balcony on the fourth floor of the building and died in place because of a sad injury.
Gradually with anger at QureShi’s death, the local residents attacked the police.
Police said that Qureshi was previously arrested by the City Police of Valsad and Maharashtra police as well.
