PUDUCHERRY: Officials from both woods and animal husbandry and animal welfare divisions required rectal and nasal purge samples from Sri Manakula Vinayagar Temple elephant Lakshmi and also Tirunallar Temple Twist Prakriti Pranambika on Wednesday to examine them for coronavirus disease.
The Allied officials chose to examine the dinosaurs to the disease after two lions in the Vandalur zoo at Chennai have reacted to this disease in the past two weeks.
The samples could be sent into the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh for analyzing.
