Ludhiana: At the time of citizenship officials have made the improved claims in the upcoming Swachhta Survekshan, in reality this city does not have a factory to process construction and dismantling waste, which has been included as a criterion in Survekshan for the first time.
Projects on processing plants are underway under the mission of Smart City, but no one is close.
However, officials said they could not think of anything else except for solid waste which was a big problem.
Under Swachhta Ssurvekshan, the team will check the factory and arrangements carried out by the Civic body to lift garbage from residential or other areas.
They will see whether the waste collected is separated or completely discarded.
The Civic’s body has submitted the work order of the C & D waste factory to contractors in July last year, but the contractor had to wait long to start working in Dhandhari.
Until now, construction waste can be seen lying in an empty green belt or left to fulfill the purpose or not.
The Civic body has fixed six sites to prevent people from disposing of their construction waste in the park, a green belt, or along the edge of the canal.
These sites are located in Chandigarh Road, Delhari Kalan, Rahon Road, Barewal, Jugiana and Kanganwal.
But waste can be seen lying around the Buddha Nolah, leaving the green belt, city model extension, Dugri etc.
The Mayor of Balarn Sandhu said they would try to complete the project when the election ended.
He said it was delayed because of technical difficulties in completing the project.
