Panaji: Head of Minister of Pram Sawant on Monday said that the ambitious government project ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat – Swayampurna Goa’, aims to make an independent state, will restart from July 1.
The project was suspended in May due to a sharp increase in Covid cases.
“From July 1, ‘Sway Mitrs’ will be back starting to visit Panchayats Village,” Sawant said, added that the concept was carried out to help countries.
Speaking on a function, the minister’s head said that Goa can become self-sufficiency (independent), and it is necessary to motivate the state community.
“We have to tell people about their strengths and skills.
We must improve their skills,” he said Sawant said that 191 Mitrs Swayampurna in Pancahayats and 14 Mitrs Swayampurna in the city had started their work to make Swayampurna Goa.
Sawant said that if MITR Swayampurna was active, they could do many things for people in their pancidges.
He also said that the grassroots level politicians must keep politics on the side and work for people in their pancidges.
He said that every MIRR Swayampurna must identify problems in their jurisdiction and solve it.
Under Swayampurna Goa, Panchayats and the municipality should get funds under the 15th Finance Commission and under funds allocated for the 60th celebration of Goa Liberation.
Country, through a scheme, wants to ensure 100% coverage of water and electrical connections to people.
