Kolkata: After the senior state bureaucrat and top police officers, Gang Mewat Cyber has targeted city education with similar modus operandi – creating a fake Facebook page in their name and looking for money from those on their friends list.
The police said these gangs were mainly operating from Bharatpur and Alwar.
In the past week, the leading educators of Sarkar and Debannarayan Sarkar and Debannarayan Sarkar have submitted complaints against false Facebook pages that were accused of being made in their names and asked Rs 10,000 as aid from their social media friends.
In the first case, unknown people try to cheat people by using a fake Facebook account from the Sarkar Pabitra by sending a message to his friends and asking for money.
His friends were allegedly when they found the word “urgent” spelled as “Argent ‘and told him about this problem.” On September 9, one of the students I asked me whether I had opened a new FB account.
I checked and found fraud.
My friends, who received a message for money, complained about false profiles.
