Srinagar: Pro-Pakistani leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani died has ended the anti-Indian chapter and separatist politics in Kashmir.
Born on September 29, 1929 in a village in the District of Bandipora, Geelani completed his education from Oriental College, Lahore.
He worked as a teacher for several years before joining Jamaat-e-Islami.
Geelani, who was seen as an eagle among Kashmir separatist leadership, then became MLA three times the Sopore Constituency.
He won the assembly election in 1972, 1977 and 1987.
However, Geelani became an anti-election spear after the Militancy eruption in Kashmir in 1990.
He was one of the founding members of Hurriyat, a replacement for separatist 26 parties but fell moderate which recommends dialogue with the Kashmir problem settlement center.
He launched Kashmir Tehreek-e-Hurriyat himself in 2003 after vertical split at the Hurriyat conference that he was believed to have engineered.
He launched his own impurity about Hurriyat after a moderate quarrel on charges of proxy participation in 2002 the election of assembly by community conferences led by Sajad Lone.
However, Geelani said goodbye to Hurriyat’s politics in June 2020 said the leadership of the second stairs did not rise on occasion after revocation of article 370 by the Center in 2019.
He suffered from kidney-related diseases since 2002 and had one of the kidneys removed due to problems.
Geelani’s health deteriorated over the past 18 months.
Despite the main anti-current politician, Geelani is seen as a culture that is cultivated and a civilized politician.
His death attracted his condolences even from the Sajad Lone, which once accused Geelani to make a statement of theating which caused the murder of his father Abdul Gani Lone.
“Full-hearted condolences to the families of Saled Ali Shah Geelani Sahib.
Are a respectable colleague from my father’s deceased.
May God give him jannat,” said Sajad Lone.
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti also spent his death.
