Coimbatore: Citing long-term implications, the teacher association has searched the state government to improve his approval for the inclusion of five Secretary of Self-Financing and Science Universities affiliated with University of Bharathiar (BU) at the University Syndicate.
When the Self Financing Arts Association, Science and Management of Tamil Nadu Higher Education moved the High Court in 2019 which seek representation in BU syndicate, the court asked the university to consider their requests.
While the principles of the art of self-funding and college science have representation in syndicate, there is no provision for the Secretary of the Higher Education to become a member.
With the state government that approved the Amendment of Bharathiar University Act, 1981, non-academic members would be nominated exclusively to the Syndicate.Otim unit President Association Tamil Nadu R Associent R Associent R sanil said significant things were usually discussed in the Senate.
“But the syndicate, led by Chancellor representative, submitted an agenda, agreed and forwarded it to the state government to consider.
All of this happened without our knowledge,” he said.
“It will tend to have academics and scholars as a higher limb than non-academic members of college management.” Against the move, the State President of the University Teachers Association (AUT) P Thirunavakkarasu was mentioned to privatize.

“The inclusion of five secretaries from the self-financing college to the syndicate is the same as submitting the Builder’s Administration to a private college.
We plan to meet the Higher Education Minister K Ponmudi and seek withdrawal of decisions,” he said.
