Dubai: The International Cricket Council announced the appointment of 20 match officials for one round and Super 12 phase of the T20 World Cup to come, with Nitin Menon to become an Indian named Wirpes.
Pack South Africa Umpire Marais Erasmus and England Chris Gaffaney will be two referees in the field for the Indian match versus Pakistan on October 24 while Richard Illingworth will become a TV official.
David Boon will be a match referee.
16 Umpires and four referee matches are resolved for a 45-match tournament including three referees who will lead at the Sixth Men’s T20 World Cup – Aleen Dar, Erasmus and Rod Tucker.
The former Indian Pacer Javgal Srinath is one of four match referees named for the tournament, played at Muscat (Oman), Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai (UAE) from October 17 to November 14.
Match officials for the semi-finals and final tournaments in the UAE and Oman will be named in time.
