Australia Paceman Mitchell Starc is being monitored by medical staff after being beaten by the ball right above his knees during training ahead of their T20 World Cup match against Sri Lanka, the team said on Thursday.
Starc left tasting was hit by the ball back when bowling during training earlier this week but he practiced on Wednesday.
He has not been ruled out of the Sri Lankan game, which starts at 6pm.
Local time (1400 GMT) in Dubai, a team spokesman said.
The video posted on Australian media on Thursday showed Starc grimacing and limping away from a clean session.
If STARC proves it is not worth playing, Australia has Kane Richardson as a reserve must choose to stay with Pace or Ashton so that if they decide to choose a second specialist spinner.
