KABUL: Former Zimbabwe captain and England coach Andy Flower was named the Afghan national team consultant for the T20 World Cup, said the Afghan Cricket board.
Flowers have played an important role in guiding England to victory at the T20 World Cup in 2010 during their time in a helmet between 2009 and 2014.
“We are happy that Andy has joined a number of our players at various franchise settlement and his extensive experience will be very useful and useful To help the team at the World Cup, “said Chairman ACB Azizullah Fazli in a statement.
Flowers have represented Zimbabwe in 63 tests and 213 ODIS before turning to coaching.
He has worked with England and also has several coaching tasks in various franchises and T20 leagues throughout the world, including IPL, CPL, PSL, and one hundred.
The Afghan team went to Qatar from Kabul on October 6.
Mohammed the Prophet, who will be the captain of the Afghan team at the ICC event, said: “The team has begun training in Qatar to adjust the weather.
