Gurgaon: MCG has proposed to develop sectors 55 and 56 as the model sector in the city.
Ward 30 board members have submitted a proposal to build a pathway, road, public toilet, install street lights, arrange parking facilities on the market other than other facilities.
Mahesh Dayma’s board member said the two sectors could not be developed as the model sector had illegal colonies there.
“The two sectors have three main sector roads – South Peripheral Road (SPR), Golf Road and Ardee City Road.
These sectors only have housing communities and areas plotted and there are no rural areas.
There is a city planned here, however , there is no path.
Green belt is outstanding.
There is an urgent need to improve infrastructure here and can be done in a short range to develop it as a model sector, “Dayma said, adding that if successful, the plan can be implemented in other sectors too.
The council members, however, said that the Civic body would need support from local administration and other government institutions to take projects.
Sector Residents 55 and 56 said that public places must be developed.
“If I have to travel a distance of 200 meters from my house to the nearest metro station, I ideally walked.
But, I can’t do it because there is no pathway and interlock tiles on the side of the road, which leads to the metro station, excavated.
This is just a small example Of the types of infrastructure upgrades that we need to become a model sector.
There has been a market place intended in the 55 sector, however, it is not properly developed.
Street lights, drainage systems, parks, and the development of public places must be an emphasis on our sector If it must be developed into a Ward model, “said Devender Makkar, a resident of Sector 55.
Another resident, Uma Shankar Vidyarthi from Sector 56, said,” The green area in this sector needs to be developed and the pool here needs to be rejuvenated.
In addition, infrastructure is like a path , road, and waterways need to be built so that waterlogging is prevented during the monsoon.
The market this sector is also crowded, so, to develop sector-sector OR this as a model sector, the Chandigarh model can be followed where each sector has its own park and market.
“The proposal to change these sectors into model sectors will be discussed.
