Hyderabad: Even though 28 lakh people in this country have not taken their second dose vaccine, the state is on the verge of completing the coverage of 100% of the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Fifteen districts from 33 in Telangana have more than 100% the first dose coverage.
What will imply that Jab in these districts is given to a large number of people than expected by a population that meets the requirements and targeted, experts explain.
However, coverage in various districts varies – from 113% (rangeddy at the top) up to 101% (mahbubnagar).
Telangana has now discussed 99% of the first dose of the targeted population, officials said.
While 29 districts have more than 90% coverage of vaccines, only Suryapet (89%), medchal (85%), roomeddy (85%) and bheeem asifabad ruffinedness (84%) has a coverage of less than 90%.
The Ministry of Health has taken into account the overall population that is projected 3.7 crores, using census data from 2011.
And 75% of the 3.7 population crore over 18 years old, making it eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine.
According to experts, it is better to exceed the target estimate because the population is projected large.
“There will be more migration and population floating after 2011 and the projected population will also be large.
Exceeding the target of the first dose coverage in Rangeddy and Hyderabad is a sign.
People from other states are also moving between cities in general.
More coverage, the more well, especially when vaccine waste can be ignored, “said Dr.
Kiran Madala, a certified researcher and the Indian Medical Research Council.
Telangana is also one of the upper states with the first higher dose coverage than the national average.
The state government has set goals to complete the first dose coverage at the end of December, which looks like the possibility, officials explain.
Meanwhile, Health Minister T Harish Rao has requested clarification of the booster dose.
“We have asked for a central permit for at least health service personnel who have long been vaccinated,” he said.
He said the center had not responded to the country’s request.
