Coimbatore: Avinashi Tahsildar M Tamilselvan, who has given controversy by asking the owner of the meat kiosk not to sell beef, moved and posted as a special Tahsildar (social security scheme) in Uthukuli in the Tirupur district on Monday night.
In Tamilselvan visited the right to the village of Ayyampalayam Panchayat based on a tip that the illegal cutting house functions in the area and asks Velusakamy, owner of the meat kiosk, not to sell beef.
Velusamy, however, answered there was no direction from the state government.
Tamillelvan told Velusakamy that he had received complaints about slaughtering meat.
Velusakamy tells him that hundreds of shops sell beef and they are ready to accompany the officers to identify the meat kiosks that sell the same.
Some recording the entire episode using a cellphone camera and circulating videos on social media.
When the video became a viral on Sunday, the Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management of the KKSR Ramachandran tweeted that Tirupur district collectors were directed at investigating the incidents and further action was initiated immediately.
Meanwhile, around 16 organizations led by the Untouched Eradication Front Tamil Nadu held a demonstration in front of the Avinashi Taluk office on Monday, demanding action against Tahsildar.
Tirupur Collector S Vineeth issued an order on the same day, transferring Tamilselvan and posting it as a special Tahsildar (special security scheme) at the Taluk Uthukuli office in the existing vacancies.
K P R Raghavi, who works as a special Tahsildar (social security scheme) in Tirupur South Taluk Office, posted as a new Avinashi Tahsildar.
