Chennai: Violinis Kumaresh R and artist Veena Jayanthi Kumaresh hopes your next time runs, you do it with ‘installed string’.
Or ‘run with SA’, because they call it.
The musicians have just released a music training album that is fully based on a variety of Carnatic, with a little Cuban and PEP Brazil thrown for stretch sprints? “We were on our morning road one day when someone mentioned that it would be good to have a classic playlist to listen while running.
And so we came with this 36-minute album,” Jayanthi said.
To make a five track album, artists contact the runner and buff gym to understand what type of speed they are looking for in their music.
The result is an album with the heating track, which is fast and cold.
For example, said Jayanthi, the album begins with a composition based on Hamsadhvani, at 160 beats per minute for heating, then the transition to ‘Nattakurinji’ in 180 was beating briefly, and then became ‘Kamaas’ to help.
Not only Kumaresh duo comes with a carnatical themed album for routine exercises, which seems to be increasingly popular with fitness fans in the city.
Previous studies by coincidence show that more slow music between 80 and 115 beats per minute can help slow down the heartbeat and reduce anxiety before the race or game.
A few months ago, Madrasana released six exercises with Carnatic albums, which were carried out with SA available on several digital streaming platforms.
In the first month there were almost 4,000 streams on all digital platforms, said Mahesh Venkateshwaran, founder of the music platform.
Madrasana conducted a survey of 400 people, asking them about the practice and the type of ragas they listened to.
“We noticed that runners seem to like faster carnatic numbers.
For our survey, some runners are even specific about the number of knockings that they want,” he said.
Madrasana traced classical musicians and vocalists such as Ramakrishnan Murthy, Vignesh Ishwar, Sriranjani SanhanagoPalan, Ashwath Narayan, Sandeep Narayan, Ashwin Srinivasan and Ramana Balachandran for their album.
Because runners listen to music in headphones, albums, said Mahesh, produced in amolation, which is the sound of full surround sphere.
“It’s more fun ears through headphones,” Mahesh said.
Biju Zachariah’s entrepreneur said while he usually listened to blues and stones in his escape, he had just tried Carnatic music.
“It was refreshing,” Zachariah said, who tried to run with SA.
“I always think classical music will be too soft to run but the numbers with a knock faster make you ready for a good speed.”
