Take Action to ensure Physicians Aren’t Assaulted in Long Run, Gauhati High-profile Inquires Assam govt

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati high court has requested the Assam government to make a comprehensive report on measures taken to make sure no attacks on physicians and medical personnel happen in future.
A seat of Chief Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak handed the order after submitting a suo motu public interest litigation (PIL) according to a correspondence by urge Sneha Kalita concerning the current assault on a physician at a hospital hospital at Hojai district.
The court asked the state government to submit a report on the progress made at the case in just a couple of weeks.
“A detail answer be submitted by the Government in fourteen days regarding the steps taken by the authorities or the steps it proposes to take to make sure such events don’t occur later,” the bench stated in its own sequence on Monday.
The court also requested the police to show a”suitable note of caution” in each hospital and medical school about the results to be followed according to law when medicare agency persons – physicians, nurses, medical students and other people – are manhandled or assaulted.
The seat directed that it needs to be guaranteed with instant impact that no weapon or firearm is permitted to be taken in a hospital in the country.
The large court mended July 14 as the next date of hearing.
On June 1, a physician was seriously attacked at Udali Model Hospital by relatives and friends of a COVID-19 individual that died during therapy.
The authorities have arrested 28 individuals in this relationship.
Discussing the advocate’s correspondence, the high court stated that concern was raised regarding the physicians and paramedics that would be the frontline warriors.
