Kabul: days after swearing to respect women’s rights in Afghanistan, Taliban officials in Herat Province who have prohibited joint education in government and private universities, describing them as’ roots of all crimes in society.
The decision was taken after a meeting between the University’s professor, the owner of a private institution, and the Taliban authorities, the Khaama press news agency reported on Saturday.
This is the first ‘fatwa’ issued by the Taliban after the takeover of Swift in Afghanistan last week.

Herat, according to an official estimate, has 40,000 students and 2,000 lecturers at universities and private and government universities.
