Kandahar, Afghanistan: Taliban said on Wednesday, they had captured the intersection of the strategic intersection Spin Boldak along the border with Pakistan, continuing to sweep profits since foreign forces enhancing their withdrawal.
“The (Taliban) Mujahideen has captured an important border city called Wesh in Kandahar,” said Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, said in a statement.
“With this, the important road between (round) Boldak and Customs Kandahar has been under the control of the Mujahideen.” Pakistani security sources confirm rebels have controlled the intersection.
The Afghan defense ministry said he was examining developments.
“The Taliban has taken control of the Afghan side of the Bordak Chaman border intersection,” Pakistani security sources told AFP with anonymous requirements.
“They have raised their flags and releases Afghan flags.” The Taliban has launched a vast attack in the countryside since early May when foreign troops led by US began their troops.
Since then, the rebels have arrested at least three other crossings along the border with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Iran.
