WASHINGTON: The Taliban has captured US military biometric devices that endanger important data from the US Army and local Afghanistan which played an important role during the war, said a media report on Wednesday.
The device, known as Hiide, for handheld interagement detection equipment, was confiscated last week during the Taliban attack, according to the Joint Operations Command official and three former US military personnel, who were all worried that the sensitive data they use can be used.
by the Taliban, America intercepted reported.
This device contains a scan of iris, fingerprint, and biological information.
This data is used to access a larger database.
However, it is still unclear that how much data has been compromised.
This device also contains biometric data from Afghans who helped the US during the war.
Now, the Taliban may use this data to identify and target innocent Afghans.
“We process thousands of locals a day, must be ID, sweeping suicide vests, weapons, intel meetings, etc.” A military contractor A.S.

“(Hiide) is used as a biometric ID tool to help the Local population work for the coalition,” Intersep was quoted as saying by a US official who was not mentioned.
The White House believes that the Taliban will not restore US weapons arrested from Afghan troops, the National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan said on Tuesday.
Sullivan added that Biden’s administration believed that the “fair amount” of the US-given weapons to Afghanistan was in the ownership of the Taliban, and they did not expect them to be returned to the US.
“We don’t have a complete, clear picture, where every article of defense material has been lost but of course, the fair amount has fallen into the hands of the Taliban, and obviously, we don’t have the feeling that they will easily submit it to us at the airport,” he added .
The terror group took control of Afghanistan on Sunday after entering the Presidential Palace in Kabul.
Taliban leaders are discussing future government plans in Doha and connect with the international community and intra-Afghanistan parties to make the government in Afghanistan.
