Taliban claimed full control of the province of Panjshir Afghanistan

Taliban said on Monday they took control of Panjshir Province in North Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
The province is the last shelter of the anti-Taliban forces in the country and the only Taliban province was not confiscated during their sweep last month.
Thousands of Taliban fighters flooded eight Panjshir District overnight, according to the witnesses from the area.
They speak with the terms of anonymity fear of their safety.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid issued a statement Monday, said Panjshir is now under the control of the Taliban fighters.
The anti-Taliban forces have been led by former Vice President, Amrullah Saleh, and also the son of an iconic anti-Taliban fighters Ahmad Shah Massoud who died just a few days before the 9/11 attacks in the United States.
Son Massoud Ahmad has issued a statement on Sunday, calling for ending the blistering battle in the past few days.
Young Massoud who went to school in England said his troops were ready to put their weapons but only if the Taliban agreed to end their attack.

There has been no statement from Saleh, former Afghan Vice President who has declared his president acting after Ashraf Ghani fled the country on August 15 when the Taliban reached the gate of the capital.

In his statement, Mujahid tried to convince Panjshir residents that they would be safe _ even when a number of families reportedly fled to the mountains in front of the arrival of Taliban.
“ We give full trust to respectable people in Panjshir that they will not experience discrimination, that all of our brothers, and that we will serve the country and goals together, “Mujahid said in his statement.
