KABUL: Following the collapse of Kabul to the Taliban, a spokesman for rebel group stressed that there was no danger for the embassy, diplomatic missions and foreign nationals in the Afghan capital, promised that militant groups would maintain security throughout the country.
“We assured all the embassies, diplomatic missions, institutions and residences in foreign nationals in Kabul that there was no danger to them,” the news agency quoted Muhammad Naeem, a spokesman for the Taliban political office in Doha, said on Sunday night.
He stressed that the strength of the Taliban movement was assigned to maintain security in Kabul and other cities in the country.
The announcement came when Hamid Karzai’s international airport was packed with dozens of passengers waiting for flights from the country then down to the runway but did not find the plane and still stuck there.
After the days of arresting the provincial capital, the Taliban began to enter Kabul from all sides on Sunday morning.
Even though the Taliban previously said that there were no plans to enter the capital of Afghanistan military, the vacuum of security in Kabul made them direct their fighters to enter and occupy the empty police and police posts.
