Kabul: After two decades did not have power, the Taliban quickly moved to smoke their authority in Afghanistan using each tool they had – including the flag.
Since rolling to Kabul a week ago, the white banner from Islamic militants has become a common sight throughout the country, replacing the national tricolor flag above the government building, police station and military facilities.
There are reports scattered from people who are provised or even convicted of waving old national banners, but so far there is no official word from the group on flag problems.
On the edge of the Kabul road on Sunday, the vendor is making a quick sale on the flag of the Taliban – a white banner wearing the proclamation of Muslim faith and the formal name of the regime: “Afghan Islamic Emirates”.
“Our goal is to spread the emirate flag of Islam throughout Afghanistan, instead of the tricolor flag,” said Vendor Ahmad Shakib, who studied the economy at the university.
It is not clear whether he is affiliated with the Taliban.
The view of the Taliban fighters in a vehicle that has a standard has terrorized people in Afghanistan in recent weeks when the militants first capture rustic rustic plots and then all major cities.
The group quickly replaces the Afghan national flag anywhere can.
But in the midst of despair and fear triggered by the Taliban takeover, the old flag has become something of a symbol of disobedience for many people, showing prominently in small protests held in the last few days.
Social media has been flooded with images and emojis from the old flag – black, red and green vertical tricolor with a national emblem that is coated with full white by public figures including sports stars and many Afghans.
On Afghan’s independence day last week, groups of people wave a national flag in Kabul and a handful of suburbs to celebrate – sometimes clearly visible Taliban patrols.
In one rally, the people at the Knakson car convoy waved the national flag in Kabul.
Elsewhere, men and women stood on the roadside holding tricolor banners.
The day before, Taliban fighters fired weapons to dissolve dozens in the eastern city of Jalalabad who protested the elimination of national flags, according to local media.
“My heart is here for this flag …
I will never leave this flag,” said a resident of Jalalabad.
“Kill us, shoot us …
We will never leave this flag.”
