KABUL: Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanifi, deputy head of the Taliban political office on Monday met with the Chinese Ambassador to Kabul Wang Yu, a Taliban spokesman said.
“Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanifi, deputy head of the Taliban political office, met with Chinese Ambassador to Kabul on Monday and discussed bilateral issues, Taliban spokesman Mohammad Naeem, added that the ambassador promised Chinese humanitarian assistance,” Tolo News Tweeted.
China on Monday reaffirm its attitude to the Afghan problem and revealed “support” to Afghanistan in forming an open, inclusive, and broad representative government, the Global Times reported.
Chinese media reported at a routine press conference, Wang Wenbin, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said that China’s position on Afghanistan was consistent and clear.
“We always respect the sovereignty, independence, and integrity of Afghan territorial and support the Afghans in choosing development lines that are in accordance with their national conditions,” he added.
“We also support Afghanistan in forming an open, inclusive government and extensive representation, pursuing moderate and wise domestic and foreign policies, firmly fighting all types of terrorist strength and developing friendship relations with other countries, especially countries Neighbors, “Wang said.
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on Monday said at a press conference that the Taliban Afghanistan expressed hopes of cooperation with China in many fields including economic, trade and infrastructure construction, including irrigation water power projects and Global Times reported.
Mujahid also said that the war in Afghanistan ended and the announcement of the formation of a new government would be made in the next few days.
