WASHINGTON (US): Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar – Deputy Prime Minister in the New Taliban Caregiver Government who was just announced and the top figure in the DOHA agreement – has been named among the 100 most influential people by Time Magazine.
Mullah Baradar leads the Taliban in negotiations with the US during a peace agreement.
Baradar is considered a calm and secret man who rarely gives public statements.
He represents a more moderate current in the Taliban.
In February 2020, when US special representatives for Afghanistan reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad officially signed a peace agreement in Doha, Baradar was the main face of the Taliban.
Recently, when the Taliban gained power in Afghanistan, it was in the provisions of Baradar negotiated.
