KABUL: The Taliban has promised the field of land to relatives of suicide bombers who attack the US and Afghan soldiers, in a provocative movement that seems to run against their international supporting efforts.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Taliban who acted, Sirajuddin Haqqani, offered a gift to members of the Bombers family who gathered at the Kabul Hotel, a spokesman for the Ministry of Home Affairs Saeed Khosty tweeted on Tuesday.
Overcoming Monday’s meeting, Haqqani praised the sacrifice of “Martyr and Fidayeen”, referring to fighters who were killed in suicide attacks, Khosty tweeted.
Haqqani called them “Islamic and state heroes,” according to a spokesman.
At the end of the meeting, he distributed 10,000 Afghanistan ($ 112) per family and promised to each of the land.
This event came as a Taliban effort to open a diplomatic channel with the international community that was largely reluctant to officially recognize their government in Afghanistan.
Promises of gifts for suicide bombings signify an conflicting approach in the Taliban leadership.
They tried to position themselves as responsible rulers, who promised security for all and had condemned suicide attacks by rivals, Islamic state militant-khorasan.
On the other hand, they praise such tactics when they come to their followers.
The Taliban is unable to alienate the US, which freezes billions of dollars in Afghan assets on a US account.
At the same time, the Taliban was unable to lose their hardline basis, especially after a growing threat.
Suicide bombings and roadside explosives are tactics used by the Taliban to wear Afghan and US forces along the 20-year rebellion.
