KABUL: The Taliban Commander will meet the former Governor and bureaucrats in more than 34 Afghan Provinces for the next few days to ensure their safety and seek cooperation, an Islamic movement official said on Sunday.
“We do not force a former government official to join or prove their loyalty to us, they have the right to leave the country if they want,” said the official, who talked about anonymous conditions, told Reuters.
Afghanistan Taliban’s quick takeover has triggered the fear of retaliation and returned to the hard version of the Islamic Law of the Sunni Muslim group carried out when it ruled two decades ago.
The crowd has grown at the airport in the capital of Kabul every day during the past week, hinders operations as the United States and other countries seeking to evacuate thousands of diplomats and civilians and many of their Afghans.
“We are looking for complete clarity about the plan to exit foreign forces,” the official Taliban added.
“Managing chaos outside Kabul Airport is a complex task.”
