New Delhi: Taliban has banned hairdressers from Helmand Afghanistan from the beard shaving or cut, saying it violates their interpretation of Islamic law, the BBC reports.
Anyone who violates the rules will be punished, the Taliban religious police said they have said.
Some barber in the capital Kabul said that they also received similar orders.
The instructions suggest back to the strict verdict from the group of past groups, even though they promised the form of a lighter government.
In the notification posted on the salon in Helmand Province, Taliban officers warn that hairdressers must follow Sharia law for haircuts and beards, the BBC reports.
“No one has the right to complain,” Notice, which is seen by the BBC, read.
“The fighters kept coming and ordered us to stop beard trimming,” said a barber in Kabul.
“One of them told me that they could send inspects disguised to catch us.” Other hairdressers, who run one of the largest salons in the city, said he received a call from someone who claimed to be a government official.
They ordered it to “stop following the American style” and did not shave or trim anyone’s beard.
During the first Taliban’s first task from 1996 to 2001, the Islamist cluster forbade flamboyant hairstyles and insisted that men grow a beard.
But since then, Clean-Shaven’s appearance has become popular and many Afghan men have gone to the salon for fashionable cutting.
But barber, which has not been mentioned to protect their safety, says the new rules make them difficult to make a living.
Another barber at Herat said that even though he had not received an official order, he stopped offering a beard trim.
“Customers don’t shave their beard (because) they don’t want to be targeted by Taliban fighters on the streets.
They want to blend and look like them.” Despite cutting prices to cut, the business has dried up.
“Nobody cares about the style or fashion of their hair,” he said, added the report.
