KABUL: Abdul Baqi Haqqani, who has been appointed by the Taliban as an Acting Minister for the Ministry of Higher Education Afghanistan, said the classroom for female students would be separated from men.
Speaking with officials of state and private universities and ministry employees on Sunday, Haqqani said the Afghan girls had the right to learn but they could not study in the same class as boys, tolo news reported.

Meanwhile, the former Ministry of Higher Education, Abbas Basir, at the same event said that the Taliban had promised to preserve the last two decades in the education sector and in the Ministry of Higher Education, the report said.
“The Ministry of Higher Education has made better progress than other departments in terms of making systems,” Basir said.
However, union officials from private universities said most of the laws had been put in place in private universities and they urged the minister of new acting to overcome this problem in the next government.
“The big problem is in law and we want ministry officials to rewrite them immediately,” said Tariq Kuma, head of the Union of Private University.
The minister of new acting education said that the university will soon be opened immediately and that the salaries of lecturers and ministry employees will be paid.
