Islamabad: Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid on Monday stated that the “desire” group to join the China-Pakistan (CPEC) economic corridor.
He also told that the Taliban would overcome the concern of Islamabad about the Pakistani-Based Terror-based terror group ‘(TTP), and News reported.
Mujahid also confirmed that the upcoming meeting between the Head of Intelligence between Pakistani Services (ISI) General Hameed and the Senior Leader of Taliban Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.
CPEC is part of the most ambitious Chinese belt and road project, which aims to renew the country’s historic trade route in Southeast Asian coastal countries.
In 2015, China announced the ‘China Pakistan Economic Corridor’ (CPEC) project which was worth USD 46 billion.
With CPEC, Beijing aims to expand its influence in Pakistan and in Central and South Asia to fight the influence of the United States and India.
CPEC will connect the South Gwadar Port of Pakistan (626 kilometers west of Karachi) in Balochistan in the Arab Sea to the West China Xinjiang region.
It also includes plans to make road, train and oil links to increase connectivity between China and the Middle East.
This development occurs in the middle of a report indicating that the contents have supported the Taliban Afghan taker.
“Islamabad has played an important role in the formation of the Taliban, intelligence between Pakistani services (content) is their creator and supporters,” Author Sergio Restelli reported on the Inside news website.
The creation of Taliban is an effort to Islamabad to get hold in Kabul as part of its strategic plan to get hold in the region, Restelli added.
Some reports also claim that the content has mobilized the “cooperation agent” with the Taliban that has been involved in the takeover of Afghanistan.
