Islamabad: Taliban on Saturday ruled out cooperation with the US to contain extremist groups in Afghanistan, risking without compromise on the main problem ahead of the first direct negotiations between the former enemy since America withdrew from the country in August.
Senior Taliban officials and US representatives will meet Saturday and Sunday in Doha, the capital of the State of the Persian Gulf Qatar.
Officials from both parties said the problem included Reining in extremist groups and evacuation of foreigners and Afghans from the country.
The Taliban indicates flexibility on evacuation.
Taliban political spokesman Suhail Shaheen told the Associated Press there would be no cooperation with Washington to pursue an increasingly active group of Islamic countries in Afghanistan.
