KABUL: Minister of Higher Education in the New Taliban government said women can study at universities, including at postgraduate levels, but the classroom will be separated by gender and that Islamic dresses are mandatory.
The minister, Abdul Baqi Haqqani, put a new policy at a press conference on Sunday, a few days after Afghan’s new ruler formed an all-male government, all-Taliban.
Haqqani said female students will be asked to wear a headscarf but do not describe whether this only means mandatory headscarves or also mandatory face cover.
