KABUL: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said on Wednesday that the Taliban had a deep relationship with Al-Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, added that the terrorist group wanted Afghanistan “to become a paradise for the rebels”.
Ghani made a statement at the Special Operations Command Center in Kabul.
“The government will never let this happen,” said President Ghani.
He promised to give “all kinds of support,” for Afghan special operating forces, Tolo News reported.
He also promised to overcome the family needs of members of the security unit that had lost their lives while serving their country.
“Our goal is to protect Afghanistan, freedom, equality and achievement of the last 20 years, but the intention of his enemy is dark,” said Ghani, “and you prove to the enemy they will take their dreams to the grave.” Ghani said Afghan’s decision to send a high ranking delegation to Doha for negotiations was to determine the will of the Taliban for peace.
