Moscow: Taliban said on Friday controlling 85 percent of the Afghan region when militants raised attacks amid US military withdrawals, although group claims could not be independently verified.
At a press conference in Moscow, Taliban negotiator Shahabuddin Delawar said that “85 percent of the Afghanistan territory” was under the control of the group, including around 250 of the 398 countries.
“All administrative bodies and hospitals continue their work in this region.
We ensure their functionality,” he said.
Delarak said that US withdrawal was the result of the Taliban carrying the Afghan population to his side under the “Islamic principle”.
“The United States is forced to leave our territory,” he said.
He added that there was no agreement with the United States for the Taliban not to attack the administrative centers, even though he said that it would not bring them “forcefully”.
This week more than 1,000 Afghan soldiers fled to Tajikistan after a blister attack by the Taliban north of Afghanistan.
The Afghan authorities have vowed to reclaim all the regencies who lost to the rebels and mobilized hundreds of command to fight their attacks in the north.
US President Joe Biden on Thursday defended his country withdrawal from Afghanistan, even though he admitted that “very impossible” Kabul would be able to control the entire country.
