Pune: The country recorded 85 cases of omicron variants from the Covid-19 virus on Wednesday, this is the highest one-day calculation so far.
Of these, 11 recorded in Pune District, took the calculation to 54 so far.
A total of 99 people have been repatriated so far after testing the negative for the virus on the RT-PCR test.

Of the 85 cases, 47 reported by the National Institute of Virology (NIV) and 38 by the Institute of Education and Research in Indian Science (IISER).
Of the 47 patients reported by NIV, 43 are international travelers and four are close contact.
In the findings of NIV of 47 cases, the report stated that 34 positive omicron cases came from Mumbai, while Nagpur and Pimpri Chinchwad reported three cases each.
Mumbai Mumbai and Pune limits reported two cases each, while Panvel, Kolhapur, and Buldhana reported one case respectively.
38 Omicron cases reported by Iiser came from community supervision.
According to initial information, they have no history of international travel.
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, in a press statement, said all patients were treated at the new Bhosari Hospital.
