COIMBATORE: A seven-year-old boy drowned in a pond nearby Kasthuri Garden in Podanur on Saturday night when attempting to have a rubber ball which dropped inside when he had been playing along with his buddies. Even the Podanur authorities identified the dead as Surya, son of 30-year-old K Ramasamy, also a mason in Kasthuri Garden in Pillaiyarpuram. Police stated Ramasamy’s spouse had eloped with a different man a couple of decades back and his parents had been taking care of his two kids, for example, boy. “After he returned on Saturdayhis acquaintances told him his son had dropped in the local pond when attempting to select the ball which dropped to it and they’d alerted the fire and rescue agencies staff because his friends’ attempts to rescue him travelled vain,” a police officer said. Meanwhile, the fire fighters touched the place, recovered the boy’s figure in the pond and also delivered to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. The Podanur authorities have registered a case.
