Madurai: There are 40 of them, all the graves of mud, and thangasamy wiped the leaves and dirt from them every day when he walked in the backyard of his house.
Vibrant dog lover, a 77-year-old man from Sithathoor Village in Sivaganga has preserved Graves from 40 dogs maintained by him for years, who continued to live in his memory.
These dogs are Mongrel on the streets he adopted.
But the names he calls are equally varied such as Saritha, Devi, Duraisamy, Nallamma, Vellachi and Ramar for several names.
Thangasamy is not married and lives in a small one-room house.
Every time a dog died, he immediately got another, but also built a small mud grave on his yard for the dead.
Sometimes, he places limestone in the grave for better identification.
He used to work as a cooler of agriculture in his youth, but now he is unemployed and lives on rice provided through PDS which also helps feed his pet.
Thangasamy said that considering his pet gave him a lot of satisfaction.
He maintained the grave by removing the leaves and debris around it and sometimes put flowers on them.
Village colleagues guarantee his love for dogs saying it should be praised.
