Tamil Nadu added 10 waste treatment plants

Chennai: General Waste Processing Plants (CETPS) will be established in 10 locations in the district eroded and namakkal to prevent the disposal of waste from the industry into the water body, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change in Siva V Mueyyanathan told the State Assembly on Friday.
CETPS will be established with state and central funding, said Meyyanathan in return for debate about demands for grants for various departments.

It installs three monitors on sustainable water quality online at River Cauvery, Noyyal, Bhavani and Kalingarayan Canal in the region to monitor water quality in real-time.
This facility also includes Thamirabarani in Tirunelveli District.
Apart from this, the department has installed 34 high quality ambient air quality monitoring stations (AAQ) to check air quality in industrial areas and cities, ministers and note that the system will warn every time AAQ pollution levels beyond the allowed level.
Officials will immediately act and take appropriate action.
Now, the government has decided to install AAQ monitoring stations in all district headquarters and in cities that have more than 1 lakh population, he added.
There are 50,650 industries in the state.
The central pollution control board has categorized the industry that is very polluting as red (12,722 industries), the medium pollution industry as an orange (26,739) and fewer industrial pollution such as green (11,169) based on pollution index scores.
The department has brought 177 industries that are very polluting in the state in intensive monitoring, he said.
