Chennai: New cases in Tamil Nadu down to 1,152 on Friday compared to 1,164 it has registered on Thursday even though 13 districts reported an increase in new cases in the last 24 hours.
Chennai (147) and Coimbatore (140) continue to report cases in three digits on Friday.
While Coimbatore reported an increase from 137 on Friday, cases in Chennai decreased from 152.
The sharpest increase in new cases reported from Namakkal, where clusters pushed new cases to 65 on Thursday.
A dozen other districts reported an increase between one and six fresh cases to the calculation of their Friday.
However, 27 districts reported less than 25 cases on Friday, and among them ten districts reported cases in one digit.
Ariyalur reported a case, followed by Ramanathapuram (2), and three cases each in the screens, tubkasi and theni.
Nineteen deaths were reported on Friday to take toll roads in the country 35,987.
13 lakh vaccinated countries in various centers throughout the country pushed the dose of tally to 5.16 crore.
The number of people who were vaccinated in private hospitals reached 26.23 lakh (from May 1).
