Chennai: Nine days after the online application window opened for technical counseling, the number of online registration crosses one lakh on Tuesday.
On Tuesday night, 1,04,611 students registered online on the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) website to attend reception counseling.
A total of 74,309 students made payments and 56,935 students uploaded their certificate, officials from TNEA said.
Candidates can apply for counseling until August 24.
“Many students want to join technical courses through counseling because of the low cost for government quota seats in counseling.
With more students with higher assessments in the class XII exam, most of them say they will get a chair in a good college.
This is this is One of the main reasons for the number of applications that touch one lakh within 10 days, “Jayaprakash Gandhi’s career consultant said.
Universities expect encouragement in engineering acceptance after a better placement last year.
“Because of the good placement and higher signs in class XII, more students prefer technical courses in good colleges.
With still three weeks away, we hope the number of applications to cross 1.3 lakh,” said RM Kishore , Deputy Chairperson, RMK Engineering College.
According to the schedule, the candidates will be given a random number on August 25.
The list of technical rankings will be released on 4.
September based on the number of applications for counseling, TNEA will conduct online counseling in four or five rounds.
The certificate will also be verified online because of a pandemic.
Counseling for special categories will be carried out from September 7 to 11.
Online public counseling will be conducted from September 14 to October 4.
Additional counseling will be held from 12 to 16 October.
