Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government will bring fresh law to ban changes online in the state.
It followed the direction of the head of Minister M K Stalin, said the Minister of Law on Wednesday.
While developments came after Madras High Court on Tuesday which revoked existing laws that prohibited Rummy Online, the AIADMK opposition has asked the state government to approach the Supreme Court and remain ready.
In a statement, Minister of Reghupathy said the Chairman of Stalin, when he was an opposition leader, had demanded a ban on Rummy online.
The AIDMK government was in a hurry to issue law on November 21 last year, to ban changes online in the state.
Furthermore, a petition was transferred to laws in Madras High Court.
On Tuesday, the court decided to ban legislation, quoting a lack of clarity why the country introduced a blanket ban on online games.
But the court said there was no bar in the state to bring fresh law, said Reghupathy.
Immediately after the court order, Stalin directed those who care to bring fresh law, with sufficient clarity behind the government’s move, to ban change online in the state, said Reghupathy in a statement.
Ending the law on Tuesday, the first bench of Justice Head of Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy said, “The laws that are challenged here must be considered something carried out by the legislature, irrationally and without determining principles that are excessive and not proportional …
“.
Meanwhile, the former Minister of Law C VE Shanmugham on Wednesday tried to question the DMK who came to power over his weakness in his share which resulted in Madras High Court to stop the law.
“The AIDMK government brings laws and prohibits changes online, after public applications, especially women, and other organizations.
Some companies affected close to the court and when the case appeared to hear at the end of April, it was postponed until June since the election of the Assembly held in the state, “Shanmugham said.
While the DMK came to power in May, it was preferred not to hire an efficient lawyer to place counter arguments even when online companies involve the best of lawyers.
“Online companies have continued to attract young people with attractive offers.
The DMK government must immediately approach the Supreme Court and get a period of stay with the high court order,” Shanmugham said.
